Welcome to Johnsonburg Area School District, home of the Rams! We are a small district located in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, serving students in preschool through 12th grades.
Please take some time to get to know our schools and staff. We have a variety of clubs and a robust athletics program available to our secondary students, and we proudly offer special learning opportunities for our elementary students. We look forward to serving you.
Hello!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer filled with fun and memorable moments. While it’s always a little bittersweet to see the season end, there’s nothing more exciting than a new school year. We’re all looking forward to welcoming back our students, who bring with them fresh hopes and a renewed sense of possibility for a great new beginning.
Last summer, the Pennsylvania Legislature passed Act 55 of 2024, which requires school districts to provide armed security on school grounds. In response, our district hired two security officers in November, and we added a third this August. We are pleased to begin the new school year with three dedicated individuals focused on keeping our buildings and students safe.
We also have some important updates on our recent projects. Thanks to a grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), our elementary school roof is nearly complete. Once finished, we will shift our focus to the high school’s pneumatic system. Additionally, the project to connect city water to our elementary school is underway and is expected to be finished by October 2025.
We’re excited to announce that all students will once again receive free breakfast and lunch throughout the school year. Please remember that if your student wishes to purchase any à la carte items or extras, they will need funds in their account.
This year, we’re also launching a new parent communication platform called ParentSquare. Our staff has been busy preparing for a smooth rollout, and we’re confident this tool will enhance how we connect with you. If you haven’t already signed up, you can find information on our website and Facebook page.
Our district is committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. We are proud of the many opportunities we offer, from a wide variety of courses and small class sizes to multiple sports teams and clubs, all of which contribute to a well-rounded and supportive learning environment.
The Johnsonburg Area Elementary School is a busy place and space where we focus on creating a positive and enriching learning environment for every student. We offer a multitude of opportunities for growth and development.
Student Engagement & Activities
Community & Resources
Our PTCO is a huge supporter of our school, helping to fund events like our book fairs, the Mobile Ag Lab, and grade-level field trips. Additionally, we are fortunate to have Lenny’s Littles, a resource that assists students who may need extra support or supplies.
Our high school provides a variety of opportunities to help students succeed after graduation.
Academics & Career Paths
School Spirit & Community
Thanks to our dual enrollment options, many of our graduates can skip their freshman year of college and earn their four-year degree in just three years!
At the district level, we are also committed to our community’s financial well-being. A testament to this is our ability to maintain a steady tax rate since 2017. This financial prudence allows us to protect our district’s resources, both monetary and otherwise, ensuring that we can continue to provide high-quality services and programs.
I’m honored and excited to begin this school year and continue to lead our district. I want to express my sincere gratitude for the unwavering support of our students, parents, and staff. Together, we are committed to making education and academic growth our top priority for the Johnsonburg community.
Together in education,
Dr. Karen Haberberger
