Enriching Field Trip

Mr. Shuey’s and Mr. Caskey’s environmental science classes recently took part in an enriching field trip that combined hands-on learning with real-world environmental science practices. Students traveled to the Allegheny National Forest, where they were introduced to the principles of forest management. Forestry professionals explained how careful planning, conservation strategies, and sustainable practices ensure the long-term health of forest ecosystems while also meeting human needs.

In addition to exploring forest management, students had the unique opportunity to learn about bird banding from a team of biologists. They observed how birds are safely captured.
