Johnsonburg Area Elementary School
Welcome to Johnsonburg Area Elementary School. Learning and fun go hand in hand in our preschool through sixth-grade classrooms. We are a community of caring, dedicated professionals who work together to bring about the academic and personal success of every student in our care.
At JAES, students, parents, and teachers are all on the same team. Weekly communication packets support that team spirit by sharing information about upcoming events and samples of your child’s schoolwork. Watch for your child’s packet on Tuesdays.
A Message From Our Principal
Dear Johnsonburg Elementary School Families,
Attention, 5th grade parents! Our school district has been asked for permission to distribute Gideon Bibles to our 5th grade students during December. This request will be honored on an optional basis. No student will be required to take a bible; it is completely optional. Any questions regarding this request should be directed to my office.
We are having a huge safety concern for our drop-off and car rider students. The speed limit in our parking lots is 15 mph. Slow down and be alert when in our driveway and parking lots. When picking up your child at the end of the day, please make sure they are properly buckled into their /car seat/booster with their seat belt. We want all students to be safe and obey the state law. I would like to remind you not to arrive before 2:15 p.m. Car Rider dismissal will begin as soon as the buses leave the front of the building, which is about 2:30 p.m.
I would like to remind you to create or review your emergency plan for your family. These plans should include what your child should do in the event of a school cancellation, a school delay, or an early dismissal. It is also very important that each family has a working phone number so that the school can communicate with you in case of an emergency. Please contact my office if you need to update any information or add an emergency contact and/or number.
It has also been brought to my attention that there are concerns about bus behavior. I reminded students about keeping their hands and feet to themselves on the bus. It is also a safety concern when the students are at the bus stop to be careful and cautious when near the road or crossing the streets. I would appreciate you talking to your child about safety and proper behavior that is expected.
Sincerely,
Judy Allegretto
